Other grants and funding opportunities
The following Grants and funding opportunities are open all year round or have multiple rounds for organisations to apply. Please check the funding organisations website for application dates.
Reimagining Health: A VicHealth Partnership Grant – With grants of up to $3,000, $10,000 or $50,000 the Reimagining Health Partnership Grant is available for new or existing ideas or to help amplify an idea that is already in place and create meaningful social connection, provide opportunities for physical activity and/or address food security issues for those who need it most. This opportunity replaces the Active Club Grants. VicHealth encourages sporting clubs, leagues, associations and recreation groups to apply with local ideas to provide local solutions. Change Our Game Community Activation Grants – The Change Our Game Community Activation Grants will fund one-off community level events that showcase and celebrate the role of women and girls in sport and active recreation. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to increase the capacity of community sport and recreation organisations to deliver events that promote gender equality. Local Sporting Champions – The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships. Guidelines, application form and other information can be found here.
Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program – The Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program provides grants to assist Aboriginal Victorians to participate in Aboriginal sporting carnivals, buy sports uniforms and equipment, as well as funding for travel and accommodation expenses for athletes to compete in state and national competitions. Shade Grants Program – The aim of the program is to reduce Victorians’ exposure to UV radiation by increasing shade in public places across the state and by promoting uptake of sun protective practices. Grants provide up to $50,000 for community groups and can include up to $700 for sun protection items (excluding GST). Applicants may also request up to $700 for sun protection items only. Sunsuper Active Community Grants – Open to not-for profit organisations and grassroots community groups who have a dream to create brighter futures. Round 3 Sports Grants are to help people of all ages to become more active or improves health & fitness in your community, and with up to $50,000 to potentially spend – dreams may just become a reality. WorkSafe Club Safety Fund – This program has been created to provide financial assistance to football/netball clubs to make improvements to the safety of their grounds or provide added safety for both players, people involved with the club and the spectators. The maximum funding amount is $2,000 per application. Guidelines, application form and other information can be found here.
Emergency Sport and Recreation Equipment – These grants provide assistance to grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and organisations to replace essential sporting or first aid equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of fire, flood, significant storm event, theft or criminal damage. The grants are available year-round, within three months of the loss or damage. Guidelines, application form and other information can be found here.
Toyota Good for Footy Raffle – The Toyota Good for Footy Raffle is fundraising made easy to support community clubs. By handling all of the administrative work, clubs are freed to focus on selling the raffle tickets, where 100% of the proceeds goes back to your club. Hyundai Goals for Grassroots – During each round of the Hyundai A-League season, one match is designated as the ‘Goals for Grassroots’ game. In this match, the selected junior club is issued with an array of match day benefits, including match tickets, and receives a guaranteed $1,000 grant plus an additional $1,000 for every goal that the home team scores (up to a maximum of $10,000 per game). Significant Sporting Events Program – The Significant Sporting Events Program helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria. Several rounds of funding are available throughout the year. Further information can be found here.
Bunnings Sausage Sizzles – Bunnings sausage sizzles and cake stalls are enjoyed by thousands of Bunnings customers every week. These are valuable fundraising opportunities for local community groups, and all of the funds raised go straight to the community group conducting the fundraiser. Tennis Australia Sports Facilities Loan – The Tennis Australia Facility Loan Scheme financially assists affiliated Australian Tennis Clubs, Centres and Associations with upgrades, replacements and improvements on their tennis facilities, by providing low interest loans.
