Sport North East works with sporting clubs, community organisations and the local community to support and encourage people of all ages and abilities to live an active lifestyle and participate in sport and active recreation. We are the ‘go to’ resource for clubs, local government, and other community stakeholders in North East Victoria.

About the job

As the Project Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting sporting clubs and organisations returning to play and continuing to operate and grow in a COVID environment. This will include conducting research, collaborating with key stakeholders, providing guidance with COVID safe practices and supporting marketing activities to maintain member and committee engagement.

You will also assist in establishing a pathway for financial support and sustainability and develop clear pathways for volunteer and player mental health support.

This role is a full-time six-month contract based in Wangaratta with an award rate of $30.68 – $32.54 per hour with the added flexibility of either full time or part time hours for the right candidates. There will be potential travel required across different areas in the region therefore a current Victorian Drivers License essential. Some after hours work may be required to be available to club volunteers.

About you

To be successful you will have strong project management skills in event delivery, both face-to-face and in the digital space. You will be passionate about sports and recreation in local communities with excellent communications skills, providing evidence-based guidance on program development across a diverse range of stakeholders. You thrive in an energetic environment and take on tasks with a high level of enthusiasm when working in a team environment or independently.
