Inclusion Awareness Workshop

Do you want to learn how to make your club’s activities more inclusive? Clubs of all types are invited to a FREE education workshop at Moyhu & District Youth Club on Sunday, 28 April at 1-3pm.

The workshop, hosted by Gymnastics Victoria, entitled ‘Creating a Positive Gymnastics Experience for Children on the Autism Spectrum’ is facilitated by a psychologist and early intervention specialist, and delivers an overview of autism spectrum conditions, understanding the function of challenging behaviours, practical strategies for managing challenging behaviours and tips for communication.

Although this workshop has been designed for the gymnastics community and uses some gymnastics specific examples, the vast majority of the content is transferable knowledge that would be valuable for any sports coach or administrator.
