Topics include:

  • the culture and leadership of your organisation
  • the policies you need
  • how to put together a code of conduct
  • recruit and train staff and volunteers
  • respond to and report suspected abuse

Clubs who sign up for the Good Sports program by November 16 2018, and then become Level 1 accredited by December 15 2018, will be eligible to enter the running to win a $500 cash prize.

To have a sporting chance at being one of four Victorian clubs to win, clubs must register via the competition web page found on the Good Sports website, and tell them in 50 words or less, “How does your sporting club make summer great?”. Additionally, clubs need to answer, “What would your club spend it on if you won?”.

The Good Sports program is designed to help clubs enjoy their sport by providing club leaders with the support they need to create the best experience for members and guests. The benefits of becoming a good sports club include making your club safer and appealing, being a leader in your community, enhanced funding opportunities, staying ahead of the game and plenty of support.

For further information visit the Good Sports website, or contact Felicity Munro at Sport North East on 03 5721 0250 or email felicity.munro@thecentre.vic.edu.au
