‘Learn Support Lead: Activating female leaders in sport’ is a 12 month female mentoring and leadership program designed to activate the untapped skills and experience of local women on and off the field.

The program includes two cohorts of women – emerging leaders, and established leaders, who will act as mentors. The program will guide participants through a series of workshops to build confidence, understanding and networks, ultimately allowing them to unlock and realise their leadership potential as players, coaches, administrators or committee members and in other roles within their club. The program will benefit the individuals participating, their sporting clubs and the community
The leadership program is due to commence in Wodonga and Towong with the welcome evening in July 2018, and conclude with a celebration evening in May 2019. There are nine monthly workshops that all participants are expected to attend. Topics covered in the program include:
- Culture begins at the top
- Leadership: styles and types
- Strategic Planning
- Understanding Boards and Committees
- Building high performing teams
- Conflict identification and resolution
The program will be conducted on Wednesday evenings on the following dates:
- Welcome evening, July 25 2018
- Workshop dates: Aug. 22, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, Dec. 12, Jan. 30 2019, Feb. 20, Mar. 20, Apr. 24
- Celebration evening, May 2019
