Women In Sport – Change Our Game

office of women in sport and recreation

Despite more and more women and girls playing sport on the field, a recent Victorian Government Inquiry has shown there’s a real shortage of female leaders off the field.

That’s why the Victorian Government has launched the new Change our Game campaign.

The aim is to encourage all Victorians to become ‘take action heroes’, tackle gender stereotypes in sport and break down the barriers to women and girls getting involving in leadership positions, both at the elite and grassroots levels.

The campaign not only inspires women and girls to participate and become leaders in sport but challenges the sports sector to take the pledge to support more women and girls to participate and become leaders in sport.

This campaign brings together organisations in a shared effort to increase leadership and participation by women and girls in sport. It includes the Female Friendly Sports Infrastructure Guide – a toolkit for sporting organisations complete with recruitment guidelines to help attract more women and girls to sports leadership roles.
