Current Grants and Funding opportunities

Get Active Indigo Grants Program – An exciting new grant opportunity has been created to assist in getting the communities of Indigo Shire more active. Applications are invited from the community to the Get Active Indigo Grants Program. A total of $30,000 is available for projects with a maximum of $5,000 to be applied for per project. Applications close on 15 February 2019. Wodonga Community Impact Grants – The next round of Community Impact Grants are officially open. The Community Impact Grants program aims to empower community organisations and community groups to grow ideas in an innovative and creative way, as well as looking to improve the city. Community organisations and community groups auspiced by a community organisation can apply for grants up to $3000. Wangaratta Community Grants – The Rural City of Wangaratta Community Grants Program supports community groups and organisations to carry out programs and projects that will develop and enhance the social, cultural and environmental experience of local residents. The Community Grants Program Minor Category provides grants up to $5,000. Applications close on Friday, 1 March 2019. Guidelines, Application Form and other information can be found here.

VicHealth Active Club Grants – VicHealth is inviting community sport clubs to apply for an Active Club Grant. Grants for sporting clubs provide up to $3000 or $10,000 to increase participation opportunities for Victorians in community sport (excluding GST). Hundreds of clubs have already received an Active Club Grant and are doing fantastic things with their sporting club funding, helping their communities by getting more people active. Applications close on Friday, 8 March 2019. Guidelines, Application Form and other information can be found here.

Tennis Hot Shots Community Grants – This grant supports the tennis community and to help it grow by providing funding to tennis clubs and venues across Australia. 20 x $10,000 grants are available to tennis clubs and venues around the country. Guidelines, Application Form and other information can be found here.

Athlete Pathway Travel Grants – This program provides grants to improve Victorian athlete development pathways from community to national representation level. Support is available to assist community sport and recreation athletes, coaches, officials and teams with the travel costs of participating in training and competition, and for high performance Victorian athletes and teams to compete at national championships or selection events. Round 2 opens on Tuesday, 29 January 2019 and closes on Tuesday, 5 March 2019. Guidelines, Application Form and other information can be found here.

Jetstar Flying Start – Jetstar’s Flying Start Program invites community groups and organisations across Australia to apply for a grant to fund a project that will enrich the lives of people in their local community. Local Sporting Champions – The Local Sporting Champions program from Sport Australia provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. Details, FAQs and other information can be found here.

Emergency Sport and Recreation Equipment – These grants provide assistance to grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and organisations to replace essential sporting or first aid equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of fire, flood, significant storm event, theft or criminal damage. The grants are available year-round, within three months of the loss or damage. Guidelines, Application Form and other information can be found here.

Toyota Good for Footy Raffle – The Toyota Good for Footy Raffle is fundraising made easy to support community clubs. By handling all of the administrative work, clubs are freed to focus on selling the raffle tickets, where 100% of the proceeds goes back to your club. Hyundai Goals for Grassroots – During each round of the Hyundai A-League season, one match is designated as the ‘Goals for Grassroots’ game. In this match, the selected junior club is issued with an array of match day benefits, including match tickets, and receives a guaranteed $1,000 grant plus an additional $1,000 for every goal that the home team scores (up to a maximum of $10,000 per game). Individual Athlete Assistance Grants – As part of the Active Wangaratta Grants Program, the Individual Assistance Program is designed to assist children and young people under 18 to access elite sporting opportunities and/or attend elite sporting events they otherwise could not have attended. Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund – This Victorian Government fund is available to families with school-age children to assist with attending school camps or trips, swimming and school-organised programs, outdoor education programs and excursions and incursions. Significant Sporting Events Program – The Significant Sporting Events Program helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria. Several rounds of funding are available throughout the year. Further information can be found here.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzles – Bunnings sausage sizzles and cake stalls are enjoyed by thousands of Bunnings customers every week. These are valuable fundraising opportunities for local community groups, and all of the funds raised go straight to the community group conducting the fundraiser. Tennis Australia Sports Facilities Loan – The Tennis Australia Facility Loan Scheme financially assists affiliated Australian Tennis Clubs, Centres and Associations with upgrades, replacements and improvements on their tennis facilities, by providing low interest loans.
