Telstra Country Footy Grants

Purpose:

The Telstra Footy Country Grants is designed to financially assist initiatives that can support Community Clubs affiliated to the AFL to strengthen the base and secure the future in three key strategic areas:

  • Grow and assist volunteer capacity.
  • Grow and diversify participation.
  • Improve club environments and experiences.

Play Our Way program

Purpose:

The Play Our Way program will provide greater opportunities for women and girls to access, participate and remain involved in sport and physical activity.

The Australian Government is providing $200 million for the Play Our Way program. The program will run over 3 years from 2024–25 to 2026–27. The program will provide funding for local solutions and improvements that address participation barriers faced by women and girls. The following types of organisations can apply for funding through a competitive grant opportunity:

  • local governments
  • community organisations
  • not-for-profit organisations
  • sporting organisations.

Applicants will be able to apply for funding under 2 streams:

  • Facilities 
  • Participation and Equipment.

Successful organisations will use the grants to:

  • provide safe, inclusive, quality and sustainable facilities, equipment and initiatives
  • help women and girls to remain involved in sport and physical activity for life.

Sporting Schools

Purpose:

Sporting Schools offers grant opportunities for primary schools, and targeted grant opportunities for secondary schools in relation to year 7 and 8 students. Grants support the delivery of sport-based programs to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life. Sporting Schools has partnered with more than 35 national sporting organisations (NSOs) and national sporting organisations for people with disability (NSODs) to facilitate delivery of Sporting Schools programs.

Get Active Victoria Kids Vouchers

Purpose:

The Get Active Kids Voucher Program helps eligible families get their kids involved in organised sport and recreation activities by reimbursing the cost of membership and registration fees, uniforms and equipment. Eligible children may be able to receive up to $200 each per round.

Important dates

  • Round 7 open to apply for a voucher: 10:00 am Tuesday 10 October 2023 until allocation exhausted.
  • Vouchers expiry date: Tuesday 30 April 2024.


Youth Aquatic Accreditation Program

Purpose:

This program provides financial assistance to young people aged 17 to 25 years to undertake accreditation to ensure they are qualified to teach swimming and water safety. The new Program has been supported through the Victorian Budget 2022-23 to deliver the Victorian Government’s Our Promise, your future: Victoria’s youth strategy 2022-27.

The program provides young people with an entry point to allow them to pursue or continue career opportunities in the aquatic sector. It will contribute to supporting the capability of the aquatic sector to support the accreditation of more teachers.

Grant Amount:

The program has three funding categories:

Applicant organisations can apply for up to 40 candidates per application per category. For example, if you want to apply for 10 candidates to undertaking Swimming and Water Safety Teacher training then you can apply for up to $3,250.

There is no limit to the amount of funding organisations can receive over the life of the Program, provided that successful applicants fully acquit their previous grants prior to re-applying for new funding.

Significant Sporting Events Program

Purpose:

The Significant Sporting Events Program helps sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria.

The play a central role to increase involvement in sport and enable continued international sporting success through leadership and development of the sports sector, targeted financial support and the operation of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

The Australian Sports Foundation funds programs designed to increase healthy activity levels and grow participation in sport. Grants are distributed to support projects that improve access to sport for a range of people and communities. Their focus is on helping kids get active, breaking down the barriers of entry for women and girls, and on bringing more diversity to sport.
